Kingston Mills
Travelling north on Montreal St., about 8 km from downtown and north of the 401 Hwy. is the very scenic neighbourhood of Kingston Mills. The Kingston Mills locks, a tourist and UNESCO heritage site, offer visitors a little history of the Rideau Canal. Here, visitors have the opportunity to see how the locks operated over 100 years ago. Fishermen, hikers and climbers will all be at home passing summer days in this picturesque corner of Kingston. Peppered along the way are many homes – some dating back to the 1800’s, in very private settings. One neighbourhood that I would like to point out is “Eden Valley Estates”. It is located off Montreal St., tucked into a gorgeous private wooded area. This neighbourhood backs onto Colonel By lake and offers countryside living just minutes to the city. Homes in this neighbourhood generally start at $750 and go up from there. You may drive right past it if it wasn’t brought to your attention- this in itself speaks to the privacy homeowners enjoy in Eden Valley. It is quiet, convenient, private and beautiful.
