Inner Harbour – Kingston
This area is seeing a lot of growth lately. The central location and sense of community is a huge draw to artists and families looking for unique neighbourhoods. The mix of limestone, red brick and clapboard houses give this area a very interesting and eclectic feel. The Leon’s Centre is within walking distance for Frontenac’s hockey or top billed musicians passing through the city. Single-family homes are predominate but semi-detached houses, duplexes and row houses are all available. Formerly a place where first time home buyers were lured by more modest pricing, things have quickly changed with pricing being more in the $400-$700 range. There are also some newer builds available as well as condos for those looking for less maintenance or concerned about the renovation aspect of buying an older home. Those looking for something different with a laid back,” know your neighbour” feel will be right at home in this area of town. Smaller front porches and yards overlooking the street take you back in time and make you feel “connected” to your neighbours. Every year, the local association offers a nice variety of cultural and musical events bringing residents together in McBurney Park. You can walk to everything here – No doubt about it, a “way cool” place to hang.
